I have been researching my family history and so far have discovered quite a bit about my grand-dad Wright who died a year before I was born. My dad never talked about his dad; he had run away from home when he was 17 and joined the army and although he served in the same Regiment, The Queens Own Royal West Kents, he never mentioned the fact.
Unfortunately, my dad died in 1990 so I am unable to ask him stuff but I have found things in the National Archives and from other web sites.
I'm going to post here as much info as I can so there is a permanent memorial of both these men who served their country - Grand-dad in WW1 and dad in WW2
